He is a supporter of Manchester United and also he is a supporter and chairman of local side Coggeshall Town. He has a twin brother named Ben Murs and stated on The Jonathan Ross Show in March 2015 that Ben was estranged from their parents and that the incident stemmed from Murs not being able to attend Ben's wedding because of X Factor commitments.
