Along with his friend Mickey Mouse, Donald was included in TV Guides list of the 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time in 2002, and has earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Donald Duck appeared in comedic roles in animated cartoons.

Daffy Duck is an animated cartoon character created by Warner Bros. Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck, he has appeared in cartoon series such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, in which he is usually depicted as a foil for Bugs Bunny.

Disney settled on the film's concept in 1938 as work neared completion on The Sorcerer's Apprentice, originally an elaborate Silly Symphony cartoon designed as a comeback role for Mickey Mouse, who had declined in popularity.
