The Line of Control separates Jammu and Kashmir from the Pakistani-administered territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the west and north.

- Gujari languageIn Pakistan it is mainly spoken in Azad Kashmir and Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.The government of Jammu and Kashmir has recognized Gujari by including it in the sixth schedule of the state constitution.
- Gujari languageOn its eastern side, Azad Kashmir is separated from the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir (part of Indian-administered Kashmir) by the Line of Control (LoC), which serves as the de facto border between the Indian- and Pakistani-controlled parts of Kashmir.
- Azad KashmirOther major languages include Gojri (9.1%) and Pahari (7.8%).
