Rudis Corrales

Gustavo "Taviche" Marroquín scored every goal, becoming the first ever Salvadoran player to score five goals in a single game for the El Salvador national football team (a feat later equaled by Miguel Cruz and Rudis Corrales).
Corrales made his debut for El Salvador in a May 2001 UNCAF Nations Cup match against Nicaragua and has, as of December 2010, earned a total of 71 caps, scoring 16 goals.

Luis Guevara Mora

According to Luis Guevara Mora, goalkeeper of the team by that time, the Salvadoran Football Federation decided to take members of the Federation, as well as the friends and family of many members of the Federation, and spent so much money they couldn't afford to bring a full 22-man squad.
Nicknamed el Negro, he became a member of the El Salvador national team and represented his country at the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
