In 2011 he once again competed in that year's Gran Alternativa, this time teaming with Maximo, but was no more successful than his 2010 entry as the team lost to Negro Casas and Puma King in the first round.
On December 25, 2012, Negro Casas successfully defended the NWA Historic Welterweight Championship against Guerrero Maya Jr. on a special Christmas show in Arena Mexico after Maya Jr. had defeated Casas in a series of matches leading up to the show.

In early 2013 Guerrero Maya Jr. and Negro Casas were teamed up for the 2013 CMLL Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increibles, a tournament where the concept was that rivals or at least wrestlers from opposite sides of the tecnico/rudo divide.
In June, Atlantis replaced an injured Shocker and teamed with the tecnico team of Delta and Guerrero Maya Jr. in the Forjando un Ídolo tournament, which they eventually went on to win.

On November 16, Atlantis announced that he was officially forming a stable named Los Reyes de la Atlantida ("The Kings of the Atlantis") with Delta and Guerrero Maya Jr. During the press conference to announce the new group the announcement was interrupted by Shocker, angry that his team had turned to Atlantis instead of him and introduced his own trio, consisting of himself and two new characters Titán and Tritón.
On September 30, 2011 Palacio Negro was one of 14 men putting their mask or hair on the line in an Infierno en el Ring steel cage match, the match (which also included Metal Blanco, Toscano, Guerrero Maya, Jr., Ángel de Plata, Delta, Okumura, Leono, Yoshihashi, Leo, Maléfico, Sagrado and Pólvora) ended when Palacio Negro pinned Loco Max, forcing Max to be shaved bald after the match.

Diamante and Hijo del Signo teamed up with Negro Casas (called Grupo Bravo) and made it all the way to the finals, only to lose to Grupo Charly (Atlantis, Guerrero Maya, Jr. and Delta). Being a reigning CMLL Champion, Diamante was one of 16 champions who competed for the 2011 CMLL Universal Championship in September 2011. Diamante defeated Pólvora in the first round, but lost to La Sombra in the second. Diamante, Ángel de Oro and Rush's Mexican National Trios reign came to an end after 254 days, when Los Invasores (Olímpico, Psicosis and Volador Jr.) defeated them for the championship.
