With the termination of the proposed sale of AEG and the departure of Tim Leiweke, which were announced on March 14, 2013, plans for the construction of Farmers Field effectively ended.
Leiweke was President and CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), which owns the Los Angeles Kings, the Los Angeles Galaxy, part of the Los Angeles Lakers, the L.A. On that same date, SportsCenter began producing its 1:00 a.m. Eastern Time edition of SportsCenter live from ESPN's production facilities in the newly constructed L.A. Live complex (just across from the Staples Center) in Los Angeles.
