Despite taking a two-year break from kickboxing afterwards to focus on karate, Satake followed his initial victory up with an undefeated streak that included draws against world champions Rob Kaman and Peter Aerts - establishing himself as a Japanese powerhouse who could hold his own against the best of international competition.

Don Nakaya Nielsen

American kickboxer, professional wrestler, actor, and chiropractor.

Nielsen attempted to make up for this loss later in the year with a contest against Rob Kaman, a Dutch Muay Thai stylist attaining legendary status as an international champion.

The following year, Nielsen met future world champion Masaaki Satake in the latter’s debut match.
