A report on Pennsylvania Route 39

In Hershey, the eastern segment of US 422 begins at an interchange with US 322 and Pennsylvania Route 39 (PA 39), while the eastern terminus of the eastern segment is at an interchange with US 202 near King of Prussia.

The two highways merge at the western end of Hershey, at an interchange with Pennsylvania Route 39.

East of the center of Hummelstown, Main Street ends at the Boro Bar and Walton Avenue (previously Main Street) turns into and becomes PA Route 39/Hersheypark Road.

US 22/US 322 heads southeast parallel to Norfolk Southern's Pittsburgh Line to the west and reaches a diamond interchange with PA 39, where the parallel railroad line heads further west from the road.

The township's numbered roads include Interstate 81, U.S. Route 22, U.S. Route 322, and Pennsylvania Route 39.

Linglestown Road runs through the heart of the community.

Its northern border follows Interstate 81, and its eastern border follows Pennsylvania Route 39.

Pennsylvania Route 39 (Linglestown Road) passes east-to-west through the village, leading east 3.5 mi to Exit 77 on Interstate 81 and west 5 mi to Highway 22-322 at the north end of Harrisburg.

It runs northeasterly from Hersheypark Drive to the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 3017 (Lingle Avenue), at which point the road crosses into Lebanon County and continues as Main Street in Palmyra Borough.

PA 894 went right into the center of Linglestown, and then turned to the east, onto Pennsylvania Route 39.
