He was a former member of Hagibis (band), an all-male sing-and-dance group in the 1970s to the early 1980s, which is a Filipino version of the Village People. In the 1970s to 1980s, Parsons was a famous member of one of the Manila Sound icon and famous group band Hagibis together with Bernie Fineza, Mike Respall, Joji Garcia and Mon Picazo.
Two of Hagibis' members, Sonny Parsons and Bernie Fineza went on to become actors.
